What it means
己 gi is the graph likened to the soil of a field.
It is the sixth of the ten heavenly stems and belongs to the yin aspect of earth.
Earth in which anything may be planted, so it receives widely and raises.
Being soft, it does not insist on its own shape, and so it is also swayed.

It watches what is real and keeps what is useful.
It is skilled at raising and tending others.
It carries many small worries.
Seeing the whole together brings ease.
